` Courses leading to diplomas have been offered by the university since 1875, several of them, like those in Public Health, and in Tropical Medicine, being specifically designed for people who were not, and were not expected to become, members of the university. Lists of diplomas awarded between 1875 and 1970 (but not thereafter) may be found in the printed Supplements to the Historical Register .
