Content and context

CCCC claims a yearly rent of 7s 8d, with suit of court,, 3s, and 2 capons in the Manor of Barton for lands, etc., in Grantchester; Merton claims a parcel of a messuage in St Giles' parish and a rent of 3s with suit of court to Merton Hall in Cambridge. The award is of 4s per annum to CCCC from Merton in lieu of all claims arising from lands in the town or county of Cambridge, and is to be followed by an exchange of quitclaims (see 78.1).
