Papers and commonplace book of Captain John Sanders

(fl. 1797-1798) soldier.

Records consist of

- a copy of the Daily Universal Register, 1785

- correspondence regarding Thomas Twining (1776-1861) of the East India Company, referring to John Sanders, 1934

- letters from John Sanders to his family in Worcester regarding his journey to and time in India, c.1797-8

- commonplace book and notebook of John Sanders.

2002.005 - Donated to the Archive by Adrian Taunton, Caian, 2002.

The letters were found among his father's effects in 1995. They are presumed to have belonged to his granfather, H.R. Taunton, who collected materials relating to the Taunton family. There is onw letter in the collection relating to the Taunton family.
