Content and context

Dick Beck joined the Syndicate as an Assistant to the Secretaries in 1967 and served as an Assistant Secretary from 1971 until his retirement in 1983. He was Subject Officer for Classical Subjects as well as responsible, during some of this time, for dishonesty and hardship cases. After retirement he looked after the archives and continued to take an interest until his death in 1997.
