The documents comprise a letter from Huang to Joseph Needham about people to be thanked in the author's note; letter from Huang to Peter Burbidge of Cambridge University Press listing corrections and originally accompanying a set of corrected page proofs; Huang's lists of 'Issues to discuss with Joseph Needham' and 'Issues to discuss with PB'. One of the items listed 'to disuss' is a conflict of interest between an application for funding for 'Science and Civilisation in China' made to the National Science Foundation and Huang's position with the foundation. The documents also include 2 letters from Huang to Burbidge about this conflict of interest.
