Ray Huang's draft for 'Section 48' of 'Science and Civilisation in China, Volume 7' entitled 'Fiscal and Economic Circumstances'. The documents also include Huang's typed note 'About this typescript'. He explains that the 'entire typescript should contain four major topics: I) China's early political centralization; II) economic policies as a result; III) social consequence of the economic policies; IV) impact on the development of science due to the social consequence.' His draft covers the first two of these topics. The documents also include related notes by Joseph Needham.
