Most of the material relates to an article by Joseph Needham and Lu Gwei-Djen entitled 'A Scientific Basis for Acupuncture?', ('The Sciences', Journal of the New York Academy of Sciences, U.S.A., 1979). The article is the pre-publication of extracts from Lu and Needham's, 'Celestial Lancets: History and Rationale of Acupuncture and Moxibustion', (1980).
