2 Letter from Prof. John Foster of the University of Glasgow about his work on the inscriptions of mediaeval carved tombstones in China. The documents also include a copy of Joseph Needham's reply and script of a radio talk by Foster entitled 'A Virgin and Child from Mediaeval China'. Foster mentions a stone from Chhuanchow city wall which is possibly the gravestone of Andre of Perugia, Third Bishop of Zaitun, 1323.

3 Copy of a letter sent to Kuo Mo-Jo [??? / Guo Moruo] asking for help in obtaining further information about the tombstones on behalf of Prof. John Foster and Prof. A. C. Moule. At the top of the letter Joseph Needham notes, 'Kuo Mo-Jo eventually replied that Wu Wên-Liang has a substantial book coming out on the Chhüanchow stones and copy will be sent to Moule'.
