Correspondence with Prof. Dr. Friedemann Freund, mineralogist of Cologne, Germany, about a meeting with Joseph Needham in Cambridge, and methods of creating alchohol. The correspondence comprises 4 letters from Freund; copies of 2 letters from Needham. Needham advises 'I shall be particularly pleased to meet a mineralogist because lately I have been giving some attention again to certain methods described in Chinese alchemical texts of the +6th century for getting rather insoluable mineral substances into solution'.
