The passage was copied out for Joseph Needham by someone from Academia Sinica History Institute near Lichuang in Szechuan, China, early 1943. The documents also include Needham's draft English translation of the passage for 'Sicence and Civilisation in China', (See 'Volume 5, Part 3', p. 36).
