Lancelot Alexander Borradaile (1872- 1945), Senior Fellow and Bursar, University Lecturer in Zoology. He was born on 26 September 1872. He was educated at Felsted School and Selwyn College, Cambridge, BA 1893, MA 1897. He was a lecturer (later fellow) of Selwyn College, 1895-37; demonstrator in Zoology, 1895-1909; demonstrator in Animal Morphology, 1909-10; and lecturer in Zoology at Cambridge University, 1910-37. He was also active as an extension lecturer for the Board of Extra Mural Studies, Cambridge University, 1903-9. He studied crustacea and participated in an expedition to Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and Minikoi, where he discovered a new kind of crab, 1899. He retired in Cambridge, 1937, and then London, 1945. He died on 20 October 1945.
