Content and context

A notebook in a large sloping hand, numbered at the bottom of the front cover 1997, containing an expanded version of the Lord's Prayer, and other prayers and devotional poems. In the front are three press cuttings: two reporting the death of Princess Louise (3 Dec. 1939), and the conduct of her cremation by Smith and those in attendance; and a cutting from the 'Manchester Guardian' recording the sculpting by Louise of a statuette of Queen Victoria over the west entrance of Manchester Cathedral. Inserted further in the book is a small card with Christmas wishes for 1938, signed Beatrice.
