Mentions that he talked to Nan Shepherd about the book at a Graduation Reception. Refers to Lillie Aitkens, Jack and Berti Lillie, his sisters-in-law Polly and Lizzie. Express the respect he felt for John A. Irvine, Lyn's father. Tells Lyn that his wife Jean died two years ago.
