Church/3 ALS to Lyn Newman. Reports that he has leant 'So much love, so little money' to staff at Amorel's school who enjoyed it, as did he and his mother. Hopes to send a copy to his sister Barbara in Hollywood. Describes his taste in books. Sends news that Martin in going into the army but hopes to study at Kings after his national service, Val is going to the Southampton School of Navigation to prepare for the merchant navy. Regrets that neither has followed him to Clare College.

Church/4 ALS to Lyn Newman. Mentions that he is getting 'Field with Geese' for Christmas and recalls two geese that he had in Palestine and had to give up when he got Polio. Refers to Martin who is at King's College, Cambridge, and Val who is in the merchant navy. Sends news of Amorel who has a place at St Thomas' to study medicine but is also taking the Oxford exam. Asks whether Lyn knows what happened to Romily John. Reminisces about going to tea with Romily John and Roger Fry. Replies that he has a copy of 'Ten Letter Writer's' stained with gravy and mosquito blood.

Believes that his sisters marital arrangement has affected his niece Bridget.
