Sends news that he is settled in Law and mentions his hopes for the future. Reports that George Macdonnell has taken the University's separation from the Church badly and is not even good friends with Dr Jordon. Mentions Logie Macdonnell's ill health, and Hugh's imminent return. His opinion of Lloyd-George. Refers to his plans for the summer which include spending time with 'quite the best looking girl in Toronto'. Politics. Observes that Glover is to be a speaker at the Student Movement Camp in Derbyshire.

Reports that Con has gone to Iona with Dr Smart and will winter with Margaret, Hunter's house at Highburgh has been vandalised by boys from the local Roman Catholic School. Mentions the Finlays, Elena, Stanley Jenkins and Mr Burdett. Asks after Glover's family and their trip to Sheringham. Envelope reads 'To a celt an abstract proposition is always more convincing than a fact' in pencil in Glover's hand[?].

33 ALS to T. R. Glover. Explains why he disagrees with Glover's letter in the previous edition of 'Friend' and worries that it might have antagonised some of the Friends. Argues that it might be beneficial for the Friends to give up work in 'one or more of the five fields' in order that their work in the remaining fields could be strengthened. Gives their Chinese Mission as an example. Agrees that funding for missions is available but believes that Glover's letter might not have helped in obtaining it.

Ask Glover if he will speak at a summer school during the next year.
