Traveller. Admitted pensioner at St John's College, 1798; B.A. 1803; M.A. 1806; Fellow, 1804-33; Senior Dean, 1814-16; Sacrist, 1822-3; Steward, 1823-4 and 1826-33; Rector of Barrow, Suffolk, 1832-45.

Letters, diaries of travels, papers relating to legal and financial matters. Includes some material relating to Mrs Julia Carrighan, AJC's wife.

The papers were deposited in what became Lloyd's Bank, St James St., London in circa 1887 by the executors of Mrs Julia Carrighan. They were permanently loaned to the College by Lloyd's Bank in 1993.

Arranged by document type; papers relating to legal and financial matters are in one box, letters to and from AJC, documents relating to his travels and miscellaneous papers in another.
