1 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Clarence House. Greatly enjoyed the "delightful" luncheon party yesterday. Would like to thank Beaton for asking her. His choice of guests was perfect and she adored meeting Dame Edith. Was also glad to meet Mr Capote. Also loved June and Freddy Ashton.

2 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Clarence House. It was kind of Beaton to send her a copy of his "wonderful" book of portraits of her family. Would like to thank him for such a charming present. Reminisces about "all those years ago" and the pre-war party clothes. It is fascinating to look back. The photographs are lovely and the book is marvellously produced. Is sure that it will give great pleasure to many people.

3 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Clarence House. It was kind of Beaton to send her such lovely flowers and a charming letter. The freesias are here in her room. After the first day or two of being away she began to enjoy it. However she was sent modern novels to read which were "so loathsome, & so perfectly horrible, that I felt quite sick with distaste".

20 Feb. 1964
4 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Windsor Castle. It was a delightful luncheon party on Wednesday. It was a great pleasure to be in Beaton's charming house. Adored Diana's story. Is poring over the glorious magazine that Beaton lent her.

5 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Birkhall, Ballaten. It was kind of Beaton to give her a copy of the "delightful and amusing" 'Bolivian Aunr'. Enjoyed it immensely. Is sorry that she cannot come to the V & A on October 12th. Will hurry to see the exhibition the moment she returns to London.

6 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Birkhall, Ballaten. Cannot tell Beaton how grateful she is that he let her know about Betty. Hopes that the hospital visit will bring new hope. Wonders if his letter was delayed. Asks him to let her know how Betty is. Thanks Beaton for his thoughtful kindness in writing to her.

7 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Clarence House. Is delighted to have the portrait of herself that Beaton kindly gave her. It is such a "relaxed and serene portrait". The drawings are also excellent. Hopes to be free at the end of March.
