Actor.

St John's Library/Beaton/A1/527 contains:
1 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from London. Thanks Beaton for his letter. Is sorry if he made him feel very bleak. He probably said much more than he wanted to. Does not think he has such a terrible opinion of Beaton as he seems to think. There is just no heart in him "for any sort of emotional friendship". Describes a funny encounter he had outside Asprey's. Must go to bed now as he is rather exhausted. Will keep in touch.
6p; paper.
2 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from London. Thanks Beaton for his letter. Wrote to him some time ago by airmail so hopes this letter reaches him. Tells him about their friends. Discusses a night at the theatre. The conversation was "commonplace and second rate". His curtains are still unfinished but he has bought a seventeenth-century drawing. All at the Haymarket is as usual. Is off to Brighton. Discusses his friends. Ken Villiers is sleeping in the spare room. Dr Gottfried gives him an injection twice a week. Dr Anderson has taken out one tooth "with the minimum of 'distress'". John G. returns this week so he anticipates more rehearsals. Does not have any curtains yet, but has some "nice new lamps".
8p; paper.
