Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Bentworth, Alton, Hampshire. Is pleased that the accolade has finally descended upon Beaton. To have his name twice in the Honours List is "quite something". Wonders if someone on the Honours Board keeps a list of names and writes "not yet" against some of them twice a year. "Sir Cecil" is going to be difficult for anyone with badly fitting teeth. 2p; paper. |
