Content and context

Thanks Beaton for the letter from the boat. Is delighted with the nylon stockings. Is going to get some gossip from Oggie and Diana. Motored down to Swan Lake with Clarissa. Discusses Clarissa's character. Beaton's letter has just arrived. Margaret has spoken to her confidentially about the pictures Elizabeth has chosen for publication. The Daily Express reporter rang her last night about the pictures. She was very careful in what she said to him. Discusses the pictures further. Talks about various cheques and payments. Wonders if Beaton might get a "kick" out of seeing the cheque for "The Gainsborough Girls". Beaton's mother is well and goes to Nancy a week tomorrow. Will be at Swan Lake over the New Year for a long weekend.
