Thanks Beaton for his Christmas Eve invitation. Will let the others know although none of them are likely to be in Long Crichel. It was flattering of Beaton to include him in his National Portrait Gallery exhibition. Wishes that it had had more space but praises its "effectiveness and variety". Is amazed that Beaton is "equally attuned to each period" he has recorded. Asks Beaton to give him a story about Morgan Forster. Asks Beaton to come to luncheon or dinner at Long Crichel next weekend. |
