1st Baron Balfour of Inchrye.
Has just finished Beaton's last book, which he read with 'great joy and much interest'. Feels that Beaton is too modest and underestimates his bravery. Discusses the plane crash Beaton was in. The day after the crash, Beaton asked him to arrange another flight for him. States that this is why he feels that Beaton is a 'courageous fellow'.
