1 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Northamptonshire. Sympathises with Beaton over his jaundice. Suggests he plan a treat for himself as an antidote. Thinks her next visit to America will coincide with 'National Panic Week'. The boys are having their annual Ball tomorrow. Fears the neighbours will be far from pleased when they 'discover the temptation to which their little ones have been exposed'.
2p; paper.
4 Jan. 1966
2 Autograph letter to Beaton, from Northamptonshire. The dear old one is like a glass bubble. Wishes she had her powers of enjoyment. Is always cheered by being with Beaton. Reminds Beaton that they expect him on 26 April. Is inspecting the Aston Martin works in the morning with Lord H. and then having lunch with the management. Tomorrow they are going to Bath for the day.
2p; paper.
16 Apr. 1968
3 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Towcester. Is ashamed not to have thanked Beaton for writing to her about her mother. Was very touched to get it in the week following her death. All Beaton writes about her is true. She admired stoicism and curiosity as the only barriers against old age. Whenever she drove to visit her mother, it was a joy to imagine the end of the journey. Would rejoice that her mother is reunited with her father if she did not miss her so much.
3p; paper.
15 Dec. 1966–15 Dec. 1972
4 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Northamptonshire. Thanks Beaton for the photographs. They gave her a feeling of acute nostalgia. Could hardly bear to abandon them all in K. with all the delights of Beda still to come. Pamela's description of their lunch with the President there made her laugh. Hopes Beaton will come to stay.
2p; paper.
3 Apr. 1966–3 Apr. 1972
5 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Northamptonshire. Asks if Beaton will come to visit for the shooting season. Advises him on what he needs to bring.
2p; paper.
21 Sep. 1966–21 Sep. 1972
6 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Northamptonshire. Hopes Beaton did not regret the evening with the 'Black Puddings'. Stayed long enough to see Willie Mostyn slapping down Johnny Manners. Asks if Beaton will come to visit for a weekend in January. The new library will be on view.
2p; paper.
16 Jan. 1966–16 Jan. 1972
7 Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Northamptonshire. Is sure no other news could have given pleasure to so many people. The new year honours are usually a source of envy and rage, but this year the only reaction has been joy. Though she realizes Beaton is too grand to visit for the weekend now, she will make efforts to have him come to stay anyway.
