Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Bakewell. Loved every minute of her holiday and wishes it was still going on. Describes the pleasure of the holiday. Asks if they can have another go at Stephen Tennant's costume another time. Did not like Coventry. Includes a clipping describing the library at Wilton. Thought the library was rather nice. Hopes that the Danish lake is 'super'. 4p; paper. |

Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Bakewell. It was kind of Beaton to write to her about her mother. They will all miss her dreadfully. She had an original view on everything and she was wonderful to them. What a 'ghoulish' time Beaton is having. Tells Beaton to get hold of Decca. Things where she is are coloured by Profumo and his 'strange doings'. Everyone is sick of it. It is time Claud had a holiday. They had the President of India to stay during his State visit. Describes the difficulties in feeding him. Emma and Toby Tennant are to be married in September. Asks Beaton to send over Mrs Fell. 6p; paper. |

Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Derbyshire. Asks how much longer Beaton is going to be away. Loved her excursion into high society in Venice. The Brandos were very good and kind. Wonders how Mrs Fell is. Letter includes a note from Michael Duff. Duff misses Beaton very much. Reminisces about their summer. Saw Simon Fleet the other evening. Letter concludes with a note from John Stuart. Stuart missed Beaton this year. Had a holiday with Michael and Anne. 4p; paper. |

Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Aylesbury. Describes the pleasure of Beaton's dinner last week. Discusses the other guests. It will be something to remember when they are 'older and greyer and fuller of sleep' than they are now. Thanks Beaton for the beauty of his film. He is lucky to be so clever. 2p; paper. |

Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Bakewell. If she had been able to say a word care of S. Tennant, she might have said that Beaton was enigmatic. They had two lectures, one on Sarah Bernhart and one on Willa Cather. When she asked to go in the garden, he said that they were snowed in. He is a 'strange bird' but not a reliable reporter. Asks Beaton to note that she reciprocates his kindly thoughts 'with knobs on'. Will never forget his kindliness when Sophy and her friends used to go and eat with Beaton and swing their coats 'so dangerously among your Objects d'Art'. Suggests meeting up after the 'beastly summer scattering'. 4p; paper. |

Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Derbyshire. Thanks Beaton for his letter. She (Nancy) had an awful time and was very brave. She resisted the drugs that might have helped her, as she dreaded addiction. The doctors mucked her about. Is glad that she went back to her own room. Diana was marvellous but is now very tired. Thinks that Nancy had a 'beastly' life as so much of it was alone. 3p; paper. |

Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Derbyshire. Letter making arrangements for coming to see Beaton. Would like to come on the 19th for dinner. Then will go for lunch with Dais. If she (Dais?) could come for lunch on the Sunday, then complete happiness would set in. She will appreciate Beaton's outfit. 3p; paper. |

Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Bakewell. If Beaton really doesn't mind, they will 'loom' at about tea time next Wednesday. If Beaton thinks better of the idea, he must not hesitate to say so. If Beaton would allow it, she would adore to see Wilton. 2p; paper. |

Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from London. Adored the weekend. It was too short and there was not enough time to study all she would have liked to. Discusses the dinner. Must go and see Henderson. Gives her love to 'the Ancient Dame of France'. Went to the Dairy Show yesterday. Never saw anything so beautiful as some of the chickens. Sophy adores Beaton's outfit. 3p; paper. |

Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Bakewell. Thanks Beaton for the pictures. If she really looks like a 'plum pudding point-to-point lady', she must emigrate at once. Jamaica was 'telling'. The Vice President of the U.S is a 'funny one'. He tried and failed to steal the thunder from 'the little lady' as no one knew him by sight. By the fifth night, after sitting with politicians for five nights, she felt like going home. 2p; paper. |
