Content and context

After Rupert Brooke's death, Mary Ruth Brooke continued to correspond with a number of people concerning her son's work. The subjects discussed are varied, among them the bequest of Brooke manuscripts, a projected biography of Rupert Brooke and letters concerning posthumous awards and publications. Correspondents included J.M. Barrie, Goldsworthy Lowes Dickinson, Duncan Campbell Scott and Virginia Woolf.

With the exception of RCB/Xf/9, all items in this series are the property of the Brooke Trustees and have been deposited at King's College, Cambridge.

Letters from curators at the British Museum, Fitzwilliam Museum (Sir Sydney Cockerell), Cambridge University Library and Bodleian Library thanking Sir Edward Marsh and Mary Ruth Brooke for the gifts of certain Brooke manuscripts; with photograph of the library binding of one and copy of Friends of the Bodleian 'First Annual Report 1925-26'. One item is printed.
