The Papers of Oscar Browning

Illustrative material assembled by Ian Anstruther for his book 'Oscar Browning: a biography' (London: John Murray, 1983). The file includes modern copies of photographs, drawings and portraits of Oscar Browning; portraits of his family, friends, colleagues at Eton and students (including Curzon, Cornish, Luxmore, Knatchbull-Hugessen); a profile and drawing of Oscar Browning in 'Vanity Fair', 24 Nov. 1888. Not all the photographs were used by Anstruther in his book. Each photograph has identifying notes on the reverse by Anstruther.
