The series comprises mainly financial papers, but includes 1 file of posthumous material gathered for Ian Anstruther's book 'Oscar Browning: a biography'.

The additional series of papers in the Browning collection (with the exception of Add/15) were given to the College in 1991 by Dr. Peter Searby on behalf of the Department of Education.

The file includes modern copies of photographs, drawings and portraits of Oscar Browning; portraits of his family, friends, colleagues at Eton and students (including Curzon, Cornish, Luxmore, Knatchbull-Hugessen); a profile and drawing of Oscar Browning in 'Vanity Fair', 24 Nov. 1888. Not all the photographs were used by Anstruther in his book. Each photograph has identifying notes on the reverse by Anstruther.
