Content and context

Eleanor Strahan was Oscar Browning's niece, the daughter of his brother William. The authors also include members of her family: her husband Henry (d. 1933), headmaster of Seabrook Lodge School, Hythe; her brother-in-law Aubrey (d. 1928), assistant director of the Geological Survey; and her sons Geoffrey and Kenneth Cyprian.
