1 A un milord d'angleterre chez lequel il auiot refugie ses enfans. Autograph MS on paper, 14 leaves, the last blank. Poem of 47 ten-line stanzas in French. Pencilled transliterations are in the hand of T.P. Le Fanu (1784-1845). Verses were written by Estienne Le Fanu in prison at Caen about 1675. Text published in 'Proceedings of the Hugenot Society of London' 1898 vol. 6 p.112-125.

4 Songs and Ballads. Holograph signed MS on paper (circa 1828). 42 leaves (12 x 7 cm) in gilt-tooled red morocco with brass clasps. The poems fill leaves 4-33; the rest are blank, except for a poem by C.N. in another hand on leaf 40.

5 Poems. Four stitched pamphlets (MS) of poems by R.B. Sheridan, his family and friends in the hand of his brother-in-law Joseph LeFanu:. 1. Dublin theatre prologues etc. with a few London items, including one by R.B.S., one of which has been published. Quarto: 30 leaves. 2. Occasional verses. Sheridan & Linley Drury Lane circle: including two pieces by R.B.S. one of which has been published. Quarto: 14 leaves. 3. Three poems: by R.B.S.; by his sister Elizabeth; by his wife, Elizabeth Linley. Not published. Quarto: 8 leaves. 4. 'Juvenile Poems by R.B.Sheridan'. Six poems of which three have been published. Folio: 8 leaves. Three loose sheets with poems of R.B.S., transcribed by Joseph LeFanu, and one in an early nineteenth-century hand (only one published). The texts are published by R.C. Rhodes 'Plays and Poems of Sheridan' 1928 were not taken from these transcripts.

7 Fragment of story. Fragment of the beginning of a story, not connected with her published novel 'The India Voyage' (1804). Recounts the meeting of the narrator 'Mr. James' at Catania with a young widow 'Mrs. B.' who is exploring Sicily alone, and their conversation. Autograph on paper. Quarto: folded leaf, 4 sides. Her 'Journal' is in the list of Autograph Letters which follows.

9 The Brave Irishman, a Farce. Holograph MS on paper. Octavo: 58 leaves: limp green vellum. This MS iis discussed, but not printed in E.K.Sheldon 'Thomas Sheridan of Smock Alley' (Princeton 1967) pages 20-25. The play was produced in 1743; Sheldon shows that the printed versions - earliest known is of 1754- derive from actors copies or memories, not from this manuscript. A negative microfilm copy of MS 9 is held by the National Library of Ireland from which, with the permission of King's College, further copies may be made.

11 'On the Bill for the Clergy's residing on their Livings'. Autograph MS on paper. Quarto: 4 leaves. The beginning of a letter dated 'Dec. 28th 1731' in Swift's hand is on the verso of the last leaf. This article is a preliminary draft for Swift's pamphlet 'Considerations upon two Bills relating to the Clergy of Ireland', February 1732. This draft was first printed in 1789, and was edited from this MS by Herbert Davis 'Prose Works of Jonathan Swift', vol. 12: 'Irish Tracts 1728-1733' (Oxford, Blackwell 1955), pp. 179-86. The fragment of a letter is printed in Williams 'Correspondence of Swift' 1963, vol. 3, p. 511.
