Content and context

Howald Marsh (1839-1915) was Joan Robinson's grandfather on her mother's side. He matriculated at King's College, Cambridge in 1903 and later became Master of Downing. More pertinent to the material here, however, is the fact that he was the widower of a grand-daughter of Spencer Percival (1762-1812), the Prime Minister, assassinated in 1812. Both Howard Marsh's son, Sir Edward Marsh, and his daughter, Lady Maurice, Joan Robinson's mother, were beneficiaries of the Trust established by Parliament on the day of the assassination to assist the murdered man's family.

This file comprises accounts relating to Howard Marsh's estate after the death of Joan Robinson's mother, Lady Maurice.
