Content and context

The files contain correspondence, statistics and graphs assembled during research into the history of the national income of different countries and the growth of GNP from the mid 19th century; an autograph manuscript 'Economic growth at different times and places', 1977, several typescript short papers on the growth of individual countries; tables and diagrams.

JRNS intended to write a paper on the long-term growth rate, to be titled 'An international survey of economic growth', for the World Congress of the International Economics Association in Tokyo 1978, but was prevented by ill health.
