The Papers of Frances Catherine Partridge

Title Writings
Reference FCP/1
Covering Dates 1935–2001
Extent and Medium 16 envelopes; paper
Content and context

This series contains manuscript drafts and typescripts of both published and unpublished writings by Frances Partridge. It also contains folders of reviews and correspondence about her published works, and articles by others about her life and writings. Some folders contain both drafts for unpublished texts and off-prints of published work. Titles given in inverted commas are those written by Frances Partridge on the cover of notebooks, on the outside of folders, or at the top of a manuscript or typescript.

Some folders were labelled by Frances Partridge as 'miscellaneous' and others were given the title of her books. This arrangement has been preserved. A hierarchy of archival arrangement has been followed: manuscripts and typescripts of longer works; gatherings of correspondence and reviews about published works; reviews and articles by and about Frances Partridge; papers relating to her translations.
