Content and context

This series comprises the materials held by the archive centre relating to the adaptation of E.M. Forster's novels and short stories. The greater part of the series consists of scripts for stage and screen, although a limited amount of correspondence and publicity material has also been kept. Of particular note are the files relating to Merchant-Ivory productions of E.M. Forster's novels, 'Howards End', 'A Room with a View' and 'Maurice'.

Adaptations have been placed in the order found in sections 1 and 2 in this catalogue.
