Professional studio photograph of Mr. Franklin sitting in a leather chair, his stick lying by his right leg and his right hand resting on the arm of the chair. His coat is buttoned only with the top button of three and his hat is partly visible on the round table to his right. Taken at Hitchin and mounted on card, 16.3 x 10.7 (photograph 14 x 10.2). Inscribed in album and on back of photograph, by E.M. Forster, 'Mr Franklin of Rooksnest Farm'. (Sleeve 17)
