Content and context

Men and women standing on the bank of a river, looking down towards the camera, probably the photographer is on a boat. Taken at Lake Victoria. Print, 11.4 x 7.5. Inscribed on back, in same hand as EMF/27/399, 'With the Kavirondus of L. Victoria'. (Sleeve 162)

This photograph was found loose in the African diary of 1929, between folios 68v & 69r, in July 1979.
