Content and context

Photograph of Alice Clara Forster sitting on the veranda at West Hackhurst, with a rug over her knees. Another woman with a rug over her knees is sitting on the right, her upper body is out of the camera shot. Supplied location is Abinger Surrey. Modern print, 9.9 x 6.4. (Sleeve 143)

EMF/27/366-79 are modern reprints made from negatives found in a photographic envelope dated 21 Aug. 1931. (The envelope also contained negatives for EMF/27/552-4.) The views are similar to the series of photographs which E.M. Forster placed in Album Two, and one is a negative of EMF/27/386. The negatives have been removed and placed in the Archivist's office.
