Frank Franklyn and E.M. Forster seated on a bench with a brick wall behind and part of a white window frame to the left. Frank Franklyn is wearing a waistcoat, his shirt-sleeves rolled up, E.M. Forster is wearing a suit and leans over towards Franklyn, behind whom Forster's right arm is concealed. Both look towards the camera. Taken at Rooksnest Farm, Stevenage. Print, 8.8 x 6.1. Inscribed on back, by E.M. Forster, 'Frank Franklyn and self / Rooksnest Farm'. Also inscribed on back, by the Archivist, with a note of E.M. Forster's inscription 'Summer 1949 / (Frank died in November) / my arm round him / doesn't show'. (Sleeve 447)
