1 Silver matrix of the College seal. In a gothic tabernacle it shows (centre) the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin; she is surrounded by clouds, and angels bear her up to God the Father, whose head and hands appear above; (right) St Nicholas, mitred and robed as a Bishop; (left) the Founder, kneeling in prayer. Legend: "Sigillu: coe preposit scolarium: collegii: rigalis (sic) be marie sci nicholai de cantebr". (Common seal of the College Royal of Blessed Mary and St Nicholas of Cambridge). . .

2 Two impressions from the College seal. The first impression shows its original state prior to alteration in 1448, the second shows the subsequent condition of the matrix. The seal was first engraved in 1443. Includes manuscript notes by Prof. Middleton on the back, and typescript notes in an attached frame, explaining the history of the seal.

3 Box of keys and seal. This box contains:. 1. Wooden box containing 5 keys of assorted sizes and the Provost's seal of office (dated 1588). A note with the keys (1968) states that they are for the strong boxes which contained the matrix for the College seal. 2. Small box containing a modern seal showing the west front of the College chapel. Legend: 'Perpetua esto'.

6 Founder's Day Calligraphy. Framed calligraphic inscription by George Salt, one of two made for the Tower of London. Also includes an autograph note by George Salt about the calligraphy.
