Wootton Wawen and Mockley manors were granted to the College at the Foundation by King Henry VI, and the College also took control of the rectory and advowson there. Through this arrangement, the College came into possession of the records accumulated through the everyday business of Wootton Wawen priory, a significant institution in its own right, being the daughter house of the Abbey of Conches (or Castillion) in France. Documents kept by the original administration of the priory are listed under KCAR/6/2/181/1.
Documents relating to the priory and manor at Wootton Wawen in Warwickshire. Includes WOW/1-/661.
Please note that the estate collection is continually receiving new material. Catalogues for estates which have had many additions made during the year will be re-published approximately annually, and the Archive Centre staff are always happy to conduct up-to-date computer searches for any estate. Please contact archivist@kings.cam.ac.uk with enquiries.
