The advowson of the rectory at Burton Coggles in Lincolnshire was granted to the prior of Barnwell some time in the twelfth century. It is likely that the College came by these charters when it purchased Barton in Cambridgeshire (in 1544 - see KCAR/6/2/13), as the manor and rectory there were also owned by Barnwell priory.
