The charcoal is double wrapped: the inner wrapping is a torn sheet of newspaper, the outer paper has a note in JCG's hand: 'Waterloo Hougoumot [sic] 29 August 1825'. The shot is wrapped in a single piece of paper with a note in JCG's hand 'Brought from La Belle Alliance, Monday 29 August 1825 Waterloo'. |
