Content and context

Box containing nine medals/coins, including 1 Papal medal, 1 US Independence medal of 1783, and 7 medals commemorating the French rising of 1830. The underside of the box is labelled 'French medals and other coins'.

The medals and coins were housed in a small cream and green jewellers box 'Howell and James, Regent Street, London'.
