Portrait in ink of Barbara Bodichon with paintbrush and palette in front of easel. Presented by friends to Girton College in 1949. This is a sketch for a large portrait given by various subscribers to Girton in 1885, which hung in Girton College from 1885 until 1955, when it was removed by the Leigh Smith family in favour of a replacement by Samuel Lawrence. A photograph of the original was reproduced in Women's Suffrage (Helen Blackburn, London 1902). Creator: Osborn, Emily Mary. 1 item; Paper. |
