Daisy Bickley (née Hurn) was born in Gloucester and educated at Wolverhampton Girls' High School. She came up to Girton on a full LEA grant to read Natural Sciences 1960-63 (MA 1967). After a short spell of supply teaching, she went into laboratory work which led to a 27-year career in the Cytogenetics Centre at Southmead Hospital Bristol. She married in 1963.
The papers comprise accounts kept by Daisy Bickley for her second year at Girton. The accounts cover spending on food, household items, stationery, transport etc. There is a detailed cash flow. A typed copy of the original manuscript accounts has also been provided by Mrs Bickley, as well as a brief biography and some comments.
