Comprise accession cards, compiled c.1900-30, for issues of periodicals received at Cambridge University Library from c.1845 onwards, which remained uncatalogued and were part of incomplete or limited series. They were mostly rejected in the course of a major review exercise in the early 1930s. 'Heap' was the generic term given to uncatalogued surplus pamphlets, minor literature and periodicals accumulating in various Library corridors and out-stores.
