Comprises: papers, petitions (from the University, town, Isle of Ely, and various fen-edge towns such as Swaffham Bulbeck), presentments of sewers, Vice-Chancellor's correspondence addressed to Registrary Tabor, Privy Council Orders, depositions in the cause of Sir John Cutts versus the Commissioners of Sewers, vouchers for expenses 1619-20. Especially of note are: two plans of the course of the intended New River cuts by Sir Miles Sandys, c.1618 (section 18); copy of a report on the state of the Fens, by an anonymous 'Fenman', 1620 (section 20); minutes of Commissioners of sewers concerning the state of the Great (or Bedford) Level, 1618-20 (section 24,); royal orders for the Great Level, 1638 (section 26).
