The work-in was organised in protest at the introduction of reduced evening opening hours. At closing time on 23rd February, about 200 students occupied the reading rooms and the tea room for several hours. The event passed off peacefully.
This material was transferred to the University Archives by Anne Darvall and Stephen Lees, University Library, in 2002 and 2003.
