Content and context

It is not certain that this club was of university origin. Many of its members were previously students in the university but by 1861 are, for example, senior members or clerics living in the vicinity of Cambridge.

The volume comprises practice and ''Grand Meeting'' scores and the minutes of a general meeting held on 5 May 1862.

This item was transferred to the University Archives from the Manuscripts Department on 18 October 2007. It had been presented by T. Knox-Shaw, Master of Sidney Sussex College to the Manuscripts Department on 2 March 1948 and had been given the classmark Ms.Add.7117
