The collection was begun in the early nineteeth century by William Hustler, Registrary 1816-32, and continued by his successors Joseph Romilly, Registrary 1832-62, Henry Richard Luard, Registrary 1862-91 and John Willis Clark, Registrary 1891-1910. The pamphlets cover a wide range of subjects such as educational reform, foreign education, university and parliamentary elections, religion, politics, academic exercises, local history, the University Library.
Titles are recorded as found on spines of volumes.
