The volume is also called the 'Vice-Chancellor's White Book' in the Statuta Antiqua and referred to in the printed statutes as 'MS penes Mag. Pern'. It includes the statutes of Elizabeth I, interpretations, graces and decrees, arranged chronologically 1570-1669. The volume is indexed by Registrary Romilly. There is letter from Gilbert Ainslie, Vice-Chancellor, to Registrary Romilly, 20 May 1837, loose inside the front cover.
The volume was restored to the Registrary from the Perne family in 1837. It had remained with them since the death of Dr Andrew Perne, Vice-Chancellor 1551, 1555, 1559, in 1589.
